"A rock band is a rather different challenge from my classical roots. I'd been in bands before but generally on keyboards and backing vocals. Being out front is rather daunting at first and certainly a big challenge, but it's very rewarding when you get it right.

So many cover bands sound like 'our band doing The Police' or 'our band doing Stereophonics', but we take a lot of time and effort over giving each song the flavour of the original. Obviously it's not possible for me to imitate Sting, Kelly Jones or the like, but I try and give each song its own vocal quality."
